2018 Preliminary Critiques

2017 Preliminary Critiques

Hey all, In the interest of getting a head start on the workshop we are going to offer some preliminary critiques for those who are interested.  To have your comp work critiqued just follow this process.  1) set up a blog just for this project 2) write a post containing a brief description of your chosen project and the images you wish critiqued. 3) post a link to your blog in the comment section of this post. Good luck!

  3. oh, and one question: is it better to stick to a medium we are used to for this bootcamp? (digital for me, i have an ipad i can bring).

my goal is to be able to crack out an illustration in oils, and I was thinking of bringing them---but i've had zero training with oils and they are significantly more difficult for me. should I avoid using this medium for this workshop to get the most out of it? (i.e, i don't want to be fretting about how i can't mix a color properly when I should be focused on other important things you guys will be teaching)

    thanks in advance!

    1. Hi! I thought I could chime in because I was thinking of something similar. I am bringing a laptop and an intuous for this bootcamp because my knowledge of oils leaves a lot to be desired and I felt that my struggle trying to learn this new medium would take away from how much I would learn from this workshop. I heard from a friend who attends the Watts that digital is 100% okay.

Though I know as much as everybody else so I guess it's hard to say until they answer.

      Excited to meet ya!

    2. Hey Chaz, for the first time digital will be an official part of the curriculum, so either is fine. That being said, many of the demos will be in oils, so if that's something you wish to learn you may want to bring them.
